Advice choosing a VPS Hi, was wondering if anybody had any advice on a VPS to choose.
Would the following XL package suffice for a site that has rougly 2k members (200 active), If so roughly how many active users do you think it would be able to take? Servers from... 1and1.co.uk |

I wasnt aware there was new packages, Al the switch package reffered to was the name of them, ie XL, XXL, L, After downgrade I was told that I would be getting half teh specs for same price. Not only this but during the downgrade it specifcally told me that any recent payments on old product would go towards new product, I had paid £42 couple of days earlier and was told by 1and1 that it wouldnt be credited. Then a month later I was billed £53 for new product on a 3 month billing, something else it never said at any point in the order, so I ended up paying nearly £100 for a £14.99 VPS. I did end up getting them to give me 3 months of free credit as a gesture for them ****ing me about. Since the downgrade and after they got my service back up and running my back end was faulty, I couldnt make backups and constantly got plesk misconfiguration errors, after about 3 weeks of back and forward they finally got it sorted. During all this site was runnning fine no issues front end. After the 3 weeks of back and forth and then finaly able to create/download backups etc about a week later site went down but came back up after about an hour, thats when my site started running like ****, all peer tables wont keep data correctly and seeder amounts keep going up and down by 6k every so often. Now ive been back and forth again for about a month with them via email and got absolutley nowhere, they keep saying that im using all my resources and I am getting QoS yellow/black zones but I wasnt getting these prior to them "fixing" the plesk issues, Site ran perfect and I've got around the same member, active member size I had before so I should be using the same resources. I know they have screwed somthing up somewhere but I cant prove it, Now my only option is to go onto new packages or find a new host and in lose 3 months of credit in both cases. |
